Desuden og ikke uvæsentligt: Historien har ikke mistet for meget ved bearbejdningen. Da jeg sammen med Emil på 6 lyttede til ’Den lille havfrue’ observerede jeg stor koncentration hos drengen, og jeg kunne ikke sige mig fri for at blive grebet af havfruens skæbne – igen.Jeg vil gerne fremhæve at Kate Royster har evnet at bevare det eventyrlig. I "Den lille havfrue" genkendes den H.C. Andersenske melodi: Den sørgmodige stemning er bevaret, brugen af overordentlig mange adjektiver og ord som "mangen", "sorgfuld" osv. for ikke at tale om billedsproget: "fiskene svømmer ligesom fuglene flyver", "så dybt som flere kirketårne" og mere af samme fortryllende skuffe.Kate Royster er en dansk forfatter. Hun er uddannet cand.mag. i dansk og tysk fra Københavns Universitet og arbejdede i mange år for Dansk Flygtningehjælp, før hun debuterede i 2004.
