Kate Royster har bearbejdet eventyret, så det kan bruges til undervisning af dansk som fremmedsprog. Da jeg sammen med Emil på 6 lyttede til ’Den lille havfrue’ observerede jeg stor koncentration hos drengen, og jeg kunne ikke sige mig fri for at blive grebet af havfruens skæbne – igen.Jeg vil gerne fremhæve at Kate Royster har evnet at bevare det eventyrlig. I "Den lille havfrue" genkendes den H.C.
