Under 1930-talet utvandrade hundratals svenskar till Sovjetunionen. De drömde om ett bättre liv och ville bygga en arbetarstat i sann kommunistisk anda. Eneberg har framförallt verkat som politisk reporter och har bland annat varit anställd på Dagens Nyheter. Hon har även utkommit med ett flertal facklitterära böcker.

En 1870 se instaló en Madrid para estudiar derecho y ahí entró en el mundo literario de la capital, participando en revistas y formando parte del Ateneo. Empezó a escribir ensayo y críticas literarias, pero a partir de su primera novela, de éxito inmediato, se decantó hacia la narrativa. Escribió más de treinta libros, entre novelas y ensayos. Murió en Madrid durante la guerra civil, a la edad de 84 años.

Medstifter af foreningen Dansk Studiering, som i 1943 blev omdannet til en illegal organisation, der spillede en stor rolle i modstandsbevægelsen under anden verdenskrig. I 1945 blev han valgt for Socialdemokratiet, hvor han var MF indtil 1973. Jakobsen har desuden udgivet en række bøger, der fortæller om hans erindringer og erfaringer fra sine mange år i politik.
