Алчност, жажда за власт и корупция са сатирично критикувани от Вазов, но службата не е вечна, нито е вечно министерството на Балтов.„Службогонци" е една от най-ярките комедии на Иван Вазов, която и до днес се поставя на сцена. По нея е направена и телевизионна постановка с участието на познати български актьори.Иван Вазов е един от най-известните български писатели и поети, живял в годините 1850-1921. Животът и творчеството на Вазов са белязани от два периода – Възрожденски и следосвобожденски. Дебютира през 1870 год. със стихотворението „Борба", а шест години по-късно издава първата си стихосбирката. Обемното творчество на Иван Вазов обхваща почти всички жанрове, като негово дело е първият български научнофантастичен разказ („Последният ден на ХХ век", 1899) и първата българска фентъзи поема („В царството на самодивите", 1884). Вазов се определя като „хроникьор на епохата", а Гео Милев от своя страна го нарича „патриарх на българската литература". Произведенията на Вазов могат да се четат като поезия, но и като история на България. Той заема достойно място сред българите, допринесли за утвърждаването, съхранението и развитието на нацията.
