Yves Koadalan est le fils d’un couple démuni. Un jour ses parents ne peuvent plus subvenir à ses besoins et lui disent de quitter la maison pour aller gagner son propre argent. Sur la route, il croise un seigneur qui lui demande s'il sait lire. Koadalan répond que oui, alors le seigneur s’en va. Le jeune-homme trouve une façon de cacher son identité pour obtenir un travail auprès du seigneur. Le seigneur ne le reconnait pas. Cette fois-ci, Koadalan lui ment et lui dit qu'il ne sait pas lire. Le seigneur l’emmène alors près d’un château. Là-bas, il voit un mot inquiétant : « Celui qui entre ici, n’en sort plus »...François-Marie Luzel (1821-1895) est originaire de bretagne. Ce folkloriste et poète a fait honneur à son héritage culturelle breton en collectant des contes oraux de sa terre natale auprès de habitants. Parmis eux, il collecta beaucoup auprès de la célèbre mendiante conteuse de bretagne nommée Marguerite Philippe. François-Marie Luzel a notamment aidé à préserver la mémoire des contes suivant : « Le lièvre argenté » ; « La fille du roi d'Espagne » ; ou encore « La sirène et l'épervier »
