En aquest quart volum de les obres complertes de l’autor, es recullen tres dels seus llibres més importants: Atlàntida, Canigó i Pàtria. Les tres obres mostren una faceta diferent de Verdaguer en la que explora la història d’Espanya i Catalunya.Jacint Verdaguer (1845-1902) era un capellà i va ser un dels principals impulsors de la poesia catalana del segle XIX. Amb deu anys va ingressar en un seminari, on va cursar els seus estudis eclesiàstics. L'any 1965 va participar en els seus primers Jocs Florals i va guanyar dos premis. Verdaguer és un dels màxims exponents de la Renaixença catalana i del romanticisme que dominava l’època. Igual que autors contemporanis, Verdaguer va perseguir la modernització i recuperació de la llengua catalana. Va morir l'any 1902, malalt de tuberculosis.

In questa antologia sono stati raccolti alcuni scritti redatti dall’autore durante i primi anni del Novecento, accomunati tra loro dallo stretto contatto con la natura e il paesaggio circostante. Tra i vari racconti, a spiccare su tutti c’è "Il tribunale verde", una novella allegorica in cui un processo e degli alberi convivono pacificamente. Questa stessa fusione con la natura si osserva anche nel suggestivo "Duccio da Bontà", in cui si assiste all’inseguimento di una creatura umana con i piedi di capra che richiama il mitologico Pan...Carlo Linati (1878 – 1949) è stato uno scrittore, traduttore e giornalista italiano. Il punto focale della sua carriera è sempre stato rappresentato dai viaggi: negli anni degli esordi, scrive di viaggi per riviste e per il Touring Club Italiano, spostandosi a bordo di qualsiasi mezzo di trasporto esistente. Il suo stile narrativo presenta elementi caratteristici dello stile tardo-romantico e di quello della Scapigliatura milanese, spesso convogliati in spiccate allegorie. Nel 1925 è tra i firmatari del Manifesto degli intellettuali antifascisti di Benedetto Croce, insieme ad altri scrittori come Giovanni Ansaldo, Matilde Serao ed Eugenio Montale. Tra le principali opere di Carlo Linati ricordiamo "Porto Venere", "Due", "Il tribunale verde" e "Pubertà".

W ciągu kolejnych dwudziestu ośmiu lat napisał ok. 170 książek, kilkanaście sztuk teatralnych i wiele scenariuszy filmowych, m.in. do "King-Konga" z 1932 r. Nie używał pióra, treść swoich książek rejestrował na dyktafonie, skąd spisywała je maszynistka.
